Group Exercise and Specialty Class Descriptions
Classes are listed in alphabetical order.
Specialty classes are designated with an * and have an additional fee (see table below).

AB LAB - 30 minutes of floor exercises to tighten, tone and firm your mid section.

Aikido - A martial art that is based on the fundamental concepts of harmony or blending of inner power. Aikido is a physical art, which means that through the practice of Aikido one can become healthier and stronger. (Age 10 & up)

Argentine Tango* - This beginning level class will focus on the correct posture, balance, attitude and rhythm of walking; the heart of Argentine Tango. An Absolute Beginner Class, Drop-in fee $10

Ballroom Dance* - Beginning Level for families as well as couples of all ages. Begins Jan. 08

Boot Camp - Back to basics, exercise training that works your body from top to bottom.

Boot Camp Extreme - Fast paced, action-packed high-energy class that combines the intensity and quick movements of kickboxing with strength exercises, circuit training, and endurance drills to improve your agility, cardiovascular fitness and give you an intense total body workout.

Cycle - Stationary Group Cycling Classes, {all levels}. Cycles available on a first come basis, stop by the courtesy desk to pick-up a cycle number.

GET FIT for Youth* - Improve Physical Fitness. Curl-ups/ Walk-Run/ Pull-ups/ Push-ups/ Shuttle Run/ V-Sit Reach, (Get in shape to meet the presidents challenge).

Hatha Yoga - centers on asanas, or physical poses. Ha means sun and tha means moon, creating complementary forces. In Hatha Yoga, asanas are held for varying lengths of time and most poses can be modified to make them more appropriate for persons with lower fitness levels.

Hip Hop* - encompasses elements of poppin’, locking and breaking as well as freestyle movements to give students the opportunity to develop their own style.

Kickboxing - (all levels) an aerobic exercise class that combines martial arts style kicks, blocks and punches in a dynamic format designed to provide a total body workout.

Modern Martial Arts* - Hapkido, Judo, Grappling, Boxing, Kempo and Tae Kwon Do. Traditional Values with a Modern Approach {Age 11 & up}

Outdoors Walking - A regular walking program can help: Reduce blood cholesterol, Lower blood pressure, Increase cardiovascular endurance, Boost bone strength, Burn calories and keep weight down. Get Moving with Stacy, (fair weather only).

Pilates Based Mat Work - Pilates mat classes are similar to Yoga. However instead of holding a static pose, as in Yoga class the participants experience a flow of movement. Take off your sneakers and go to the mat for increased strength, and overall flexibility.

Piloga - The best of both worlds, combining Hatha Yoga and Pilates based mat work.

Power Pump - (all levels) a barbell class performed to music, burn calories & build muscle.

Run of the Month Club - is designed for YMCA Members/Runners, to meet for a fun and social run. Day and time will be posted on the Running Board. (Spring - Fall Schedule)

Senior Aerobics - Low Impact aerobic conditioning class for seniors.

Senior Sneakers - Low impact aerobics, strength training and stretching.

Senior Stretch - Gentle morning stretch and tone exercises for seniors.

Step - (all levels) Aerobic step training, includes strength training and floor work.

Step Orientation - An Introduction to Aerobic Step Training, offered the first Saturday of the month. Sign up for the class at the courtesy desk.

Tai Chi* - Meditation in motion: Reduce stress; improve balance, coordination and posture. Increase flexibility and strength.

Treadmill Running Class for Women* - Run at your own pace and distance with the help from a YMCA Coach. Learn running and fitness basics, build strength and endurance. {Only 9 Treadmills}

Variety Fitness - Join Heather for a variety of cardio conditioning, strength training and floor work.

Yoga Ball - Traditional Hatha Yoga style for breathing and stretching, classes develop strength, flexibility and relaxation through postures using a ball for support and balance.

YPersonal Fitness

Quick-Start Individual Program Consultation - a Certified Trainer/Instructor will work one-on-one with you to introduce you to the equipment and set up a beginning program. $20 YMCA Members only

Personal Training Services offered @ $30 per one hour session for YMCA Members,Non-members $45. Purchase a package of 5 Sessions for $125, YMCA Members only.

Body Fat Testing is offered for a fee of $15 YMCA Members /$20 Non-members.

Ready to-be-fit 12 Week Personal Fitness Program If you’re ready to be fit and you need some help getting started, then sign up for the YMCA’s 12 Week Personal Fitness Program. Each participant is assigned a Certified Personal Trainer. The Trainers role is to facilitate change, develop action plans, offer exercise accountability and support. 12 Week Program Fee: $175 YMCA Member / $275 Non-members

Chair Massage is an affordable and convenient way to receive the many benefits of massage. Treat yourself to a 15 or 30 minute massage, and walk away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
